Lorraine Leckie & Her Demons: Lorraine Leckie and Her Demons & John Borra
Lorraine Leckie was born on a horse in Northern Ontario. In the 1980s she started her career as a makeup artist. After a decade living in Europe, she moved to New York and began working with celebrity clients including Paul McCartney and Heidi Klum. At 37 Leckie got a guitar and was soon performing at venues including Bowery Ballroom Webster Hall and Mercury Lounge with demons Hugh Pool on guitar, Pavel Cingl on electric violin, Keith Robinson on drums & Charles DeChants on bass. Lorraine Leckie & Her Demons debuted with the album Four Cold Angels in 2008. Leckie's cover of The Pogues "Dirty Old Town"- a collaboration with Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre - become the opening title track for the 2011 film Dirty Old Town. Tom Semioli (Village Voice) chose Leckie's 2010 solo album Martini Eyes as ‘Best Album of the Year” in the Voice's annual Pazz & Jop. She released Rudely Interrupted(2012), with Anthony Haden- Guest. In 2014, LL&HD released Rebel Devil Devil Rebel In the Spring of 2015, Lorraine released The Raven Smiled in Prague with Pavel Cingl. In 2015, after playing the New York album release show, Leckie's drummer Paul Triff died. This concert was recorded and released as the 2018 album Live at Mercury Lounge NYC. During the pandemic of 2020, Leckie released Razor Wing Butterfly, a full-length studio album, and a single “Lady With The Dark Eyes” which was used as a fundraiser for the Biden/Harris campaign. In 2021 Lorraine and Hugh Pool released singles Good Morning Andrew and When the War is Over. On Feb 3rd 2023 LLDH released a single “Blue & Yellow” which is a tribute to the Ukrainian people. She released the singles “Misfits” in November 2023, "My Lucky Number is Zero" in January 2025, and "Monica Forever" on July 20, 2025, in honor of her mother. Lorraine Leckie and Her Demons recorded a new album, Goddamn Outer Space, being released November 7, 2025.
