Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and collaborative Senior Structural Engineering Professional to serve as an integral technical member of our engineering design team. In this role, you will perform complex structural analysis and design, help develop innovative design concepts, and coordinate closely with structural leads, engineers, designers, and multi-disciplinary teams to translate requirements into construction-ready documentation.
This is a high-impact engineering position for a seasoned professional who possesses a solid foundation in structural fundamentals and lateral wind/seismic analysis. You will take complete ownership of assigned structural scopes, perform calculation checks, guide junior team members, and potentially serve as a Lead Structural Engineer for medium-sized projects or Sub-Lead for larger multi-disciplinary initiatives. Code & Lateral Design: Apply required provisions of US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) with specialized expertise in lateral analysis and design, including wind and seismic provisions.
Steel & Concrete Systems: Design and analyze traditional structural steel frameworks, reinforced concrete structures, and heavy industrial support systems.
Model & Document Coordination: Partner with CAD and BIM designers to ensure structural requirements and modeling standards are accurately communicated on design drawings.
Quality Control, Project Management & Leadership
Scope Ownership: Take full ownership of assigned structural scopes, manage workloads reliably, meet project schedules and budgets, and proactively identify scope changes.
Peer Reviews: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, conducting rigorous self-checks and performing calculation checking for work completed by peer engineers.
Technical Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers, drafters, and designers while embracing emerging design automation technologies.
Field Assessments: Conduct occasional site field walks, construction observations, and facility surveys as required by project needs.
