We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team supporting critical applications for a large financial services organization. This role requires a strong hands-on developer who is passionate about building scalable, high-performance applications and microservices within a modern Agile environment.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java development, Spring technologies, APIs, and microservices architecture, along with experience working in enterprise-scale environments. Previous experience within the banking or financial services industry is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs that support highly available, scalable business solutions.
- Develop solutions using Spring Boot and related Spring frameworks.
- Leverage Redis and other distributed caching technologies to improve application performance and scalability.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, and DevOps teams within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple applications and services.
- Ensure applications meet security, reliability, performance, and compliance standards.
- Contribute to code reviews, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Strong experience building microservices and distributed systems.
- Expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related Spring technologies.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with Redis or other caching technologies.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern development tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the banking, financial services, or fintech industry.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and containerized environments.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or MQ.
- Knowledge of application performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications.
