In the Geramita lab we study how early life trauma predisposes individuals to depression. Specifically, we’re interested in exploring how early life stress in rodents alters the development of corticostriatal circuits and causes anhedonia, the inability to experience pleasure. The goal is to find novel treatment targets that can be translated to the clinic.
The ideal candidate would have a strong neuroscience background, a history of working with rodents, and proficiency in coding. They will also oversee the mouse colony, manage rodent stress protocols, perform experiments and data analysis, and help with day-to-day lab functions.
